Architectural Services
Our goal is to provide professional services to our clients in a personal manner. We believe that we can best serve clients by solving the problems often caused by building programs. The four major areas of architectural services offered by BARBERMcMURRY architects include Programming, Master Planning, Architectural Services, and Interior Design. Based on the unique requirements of each engagement, we work with the client to determine the scope of each of these different services for each project. Services During Construction involve our representatives acting as your representative to the contractor. We regularly observe construction to evaluate all requirements of the contract. We review and verify the contractor's request for payment to inform the client that payment represents proper progress of the work. We advise you of any requests for changes or substitutions and prepare any necessary changes. In summary, we handle all official communications with the contractor for you. We will advise you when to make final payment in acceptance of the completed project. Upon your occupancy of a new building, we provide instruction as to its proper use, and monitor the guarantees required of the contractor. We maintain a continuing interest in the successful life of every building.
Design-Build
Single-source contracting has gained popularity in recent years in both the public and private sectors. Clients interested in a single source of responsibility for both design and construction can use the Design-Build delivery system. In the Design-Build approach, the client contracts with a single entity: the designer/builder for both design and construction. The Design-Build method can be led by either an architect or a general contractor or can be a joint venture between both. With this delivery method, a consolidated entity provides both design and construction services to the client. Usually a single contract is established between the client and the designer/builder. A building's interior should amplify its function, improving both its efficiency and usefulness. At the same time, great interior design should complement the building's architectural design, offering a singular, consistent design statement inside and out.
Interior Design
BARBERMcMURRY architects has always been known for its graceful approach to design, through which each project meets the needs, means and tastes of each client. Interior design is the fundamental bridge between architecture and how people experience a building on a daily basis. When carefully orchestrated to enhance architectural design, the experienced application of colors, finishes, materials and furnishings can make a project an exceptional experience for its users. BMA's in-house interior design staff works hand-in-hand with our architectural design staff to assure that our thoughtful and creative interior design approaches are incorporated into the project from its initial stages of design. Our interior design staff also works with clients on facility renovations and upgrades.
